Morphe X Jaclyn Hill
Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette - £37 |
A few of the colours, like the teals and the blues, made me feel like this palette wouldn't get much love. However, something attracted me to this palette a couple of months later when the hype had died down. I revisited it and this time, I properly got a look in. After much deliberation and an extra persuasion by Morphe, through their wonderful 20% off code, I took the plunge and purchased it.
I was so silly to think this palette wouldn't get used! 95% of the colours are wearable and there are only 4 colours which I wouldn't really reach for but I would probably use them to match an outfit, if I'm going all out to a party or wedding. There is a good combination of matte and shimmer shades. There is also a good dark to light ratio. This versatility allows this palette to be used regularly and you can also create many looks with just this one palette.
This palette is great for both those just starting off with make up or even for those who are talented enough to do their make up with their eyes closed. The shades are blendable and easy to use. The shimmer shades are not clumpy at all, this is one of my major worries when I see shimmer shades, but this is of good quality. I find the best way to apply the shimmer shades is with my finger, this gives me just the right amount. Sometimes, I also use it with a flat shader brush, with a little spritz of fix+, there are no right or wrong ways to use this, everything goes.
Overall, I really love this palette, and it took me by surprise, just how many times I've used it already. I can see my self taking this palette on holiday. It is quite a big palette, but I feel like when you're on holiday, the shades will come useful for both morning and evening looks.
