The Body Shop Skin Defence - SPF 50

by - July 10, 2019

I've never been someone who uses sun cream religiously, I mean we live in the UK- where it means that we're blessed with the sun for about a month and a half before the sky opens up and starts blessing us with rain, wind and turmoil, so what's the need for it right? Wrong!
I always knew that sun cream was an integral skincare item for the summer but little did I know the importance of it throughout the year. Just because it's not sunbathing weather doesn't mean that we can get away without using SPF. This is because there is something called ultraviolet which is an invisible radiation shining throughout the year- this can be very harsh on the skin causing further damage throughout the years. If you search google images and look for the lasting effects that the sun has on the naked skin, you'd be very surprised!

TBS Skin Defence SPF 50- 40ml- £17
Another reason why I used to shy away from sun cream in the past especially on my face, was simply because of the ashy residue some creams used to leave behind. Call me picky, but little things like this makes a difference to me.

This product has a very light and airy fragrance to it, usually any moisturisers for my face that contain fragrance is a big no, no. My skin can get sensitive and I've found that heavily fragranced products can make me break out. Not with this product though, because of how light the fragrance is, it's quite pleasant. Similar to the fragrance, the actual texture and consistency of this product is thin and light, which means a little goes a long way. Once you've applied this product it doesn't leave that rich oily feeling on your skin- I hate layering products on my skin especially in the summer under the heat- so the thinness of the product is a welcome feeling- it's almost soothing in a way.

At £17 for 40ml and £21 for 60ml you really can't go wrong with it as you only need a little bit. If you're someone like me who is a novice when it comes to sun cream, I would recommend this to you.
