Afternoon Tea at The Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch
Now I don't know if it's because I'm a Brit and I'm programmed to enjoy tea, but I love it! A hug in a mug is what I like to call it! I find nothing more enjoyable than coming home from work, settling down after dinner with a nice hot cup of tea in front of the tele. It's just like letting go of the whole day. How can one cup of tea make everything ok?
On this particular day, I swapped my sofa for the wonderful tea room at The Courthouse Hotel, Shoreditch. My friend had stumbled upon an offer on Groupon, which included an afternoon tea for two- we chose the vegetarian option and we were pleasantly surprised at how great everything was.
The photo above is of the stunning high ceiling in the tea room. The whole hotel is grand, luxurious and a hidden gem that sticks out in the heart of Shoreditch. This hotel used to be a magistrates court & a police station, although you can't see this obviously throughout the hotel, there are some places where they've kept the original features. Once you walk in you are greeted by an enormous foyer with the infamous staircase. I'm kicking my self now for not taking more photos. As well as dining options there are also various hotel rooms, a cinema, bowling alley and bar. The owner kindly granted us access to the roof top- this was simply divine with a splendid view of East London.

| Afternoon Tea for 2- £25 |
As mentioned above, we went for the vegetarian option. Not only were we presented with a teapot of tea each, but they had also bought out an amazing platter of everything you could imagine, both sweet and savoury, one of each for both of us. Usually when I think of afternoon tea, I think about finger sandwiches, a bit of scone etc. But this was a pleasant surprise with an array of goodies. It was a dream. Every item on the platter tasted amazing! I can't believe how much we got for the price we paid!
It was a thoroughly enjoyed afternoon, from the welcome we received to the roof top access. We were utterly spoilt! I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good cup of tea and food to go with it. There is a meat option available, for the meat lovers out there. They also have a variety of tea to choose from and they top up your pot for you free of charge!! The offer is still available so definitely make use of it. I am yet to go to an afternoon tea which exceeds this experience.
Thank you for reading my post
