Face Masks I'm currently loving

by - August 07, 2019

Masking is one of my favourite things to do on a Sunday evening as part of my #SelfcareSunday routine. I feel like 10 minutes of any mask really rejuvenates my skin. Not only does it break down the usage of the whole week that's just gone, but it also prepares my skin for the following week.

The masks and why I use them:

The Mario Badescu Silver powder mask £12- This has been a staple in my collection for almost 5 years now. My major skincare concern are those pesky blackheads! I despise them and if I didn't have them, my skin would be near enough perfect! Nevertheless, after much searching I came across this mask and it's been doing an amazing job. It effectively cleans out the dirt, smoothens my pores and lessens the look of my blackheads. I prepare my face for this mask by usually exfoliating, which opens up the pores and lets the product really work. It's so easy to use, all I do is get a wet cotton pad, dip it in the mask and it forms a paste on the pad, and all I do is simply apply this like so on my problem areas. This product is quite drying from the offset and throughout but it hasn't made my skin any more dry than it already is. After 15 minutes I just wipe it off with The Body Shop Vitamin E toner or the Simple Toner, either one works fine. You can instantly see the dramatic reduction of blackheads!

The Body Shop Himalyan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask £17- A much loved mask by a lot of people. I use this mask to replenish my dry skin. It's thick in texture and has seaweed bits inside it. Once you apply this mask it starts giving your skin a tingling sensation and you can feel it working straight away. It is strong in fragrance and makes my eyes water every time! I apply it on all my dry areas and leave it for about 10minutes, I make sure not to keep it on for too long as it is such a harsh product and can ruin your skin if it's kept over the required time. I take it off by using a warm water, and moving my hands in circular movements to wash it off. When you're taking it off, it feels like you're using a face scrub. Once taken off your skin feels instantly smooth and it looks radiant and make up goes on so nicely

The Loreal Pure Clay Detox Mask £5.33- I tend to use this mask for it's purifying qualities. Sometimes your skin can feel so congested from the pollution. The texture of this mask feels plasticy but feels soft when you apply it to your skin. The fragrance is very over powering, and smells perfumey. Once you've got the mask on you can see it work as it dries up. Taking it off is easy, similarly like the Body Shop mask, you can just use water and your hands or you can use a muslin cloth to get everything off. If I'm being totally honest, I don't see a huge difference in the appearance of my skin, it's just more of the feeling- I don't know how to explain it.

Have you guys tried any of these mask? What do you think of it?
