Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm

by - August 16, 2019

Before purchasing this balm I was really apprehensive. I have dry skin which can get flaky if it doesn't have enough moisture. Before this balm came into my skincare routine I was *skincare enthusiasts be prepared to squirm* using a scrub on my face EVERYDAY! Yes I now understand how much I was effecting my skin my doing this. My poor, poor skin. I found that using a scrub daily was indeed keeping my flaky skin at bay but it was also ruining it at the same time!

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm- 125ml- £25
I usually take off my make up by using a Miceller water and cotton pad. Later on, I go on to slathering this all over my dry face using my fingers, to further remove any leftover make up. It goes from a solid to a liquid texture instantly. This balm feels soft, with a parafin like texture to it. Once you rub it on to your skin, you can instantly see the make up coming off. After this is done I add a little bit of water and further massage, this then really takes the remaining product off and you can see it coming off in your hands. After I've rinsed my face, I can feel an instant change. I was wary to get this only because I thought it would make my skin drier, but it's still left my skin soft, supple and plump. You can feel it moisturising your skin when you're rubbing it in. I like how it's in a tub rather than a squeezy bottle, this allows me to get the most out of this product, control how much I use and reduce wastage.

Now I haven't completely stopped using my scrub. I now use it twice a week only. Usually on a Wednesday and a Sunday. If I don't, I do tend to feel my skin getting dry. But I'm so impressed with this product and how it's managed to cleanse my skin yet keep the moisture in my skin. It's also great at removing eye make up!

This product has allowed me to have faith in other cleansers now. I will continue using this and I also want to try the Elemis balm as that looks like it could be more moisturising.
