Laura Mercier Translucent Powder- £20

If you've been following my Instagram for a long time then you probably already know that the only other loose powder to ever make an appearance on my page is the Ben Nye Banana powder. Well that was until this powder crept in!

One of my best friends has been raving about this translucent powder for the longest of times but I was like nope, I'm content with my Ben Nye Banana powder, I don't need another. But then I had a money off code from Look Fantastic and thought right what can I get?! I looked at everything and this was the only thing to keep popping up, that I kept going back to and finally bit the bullet and purchased it. I'm so glad this impulsively decided to add this to my collection!

Firstly, this powder is fully colourless, which means it won't add any extra colour to your look. This is great because my foundation shade is spot on, so I don't need anything darker or lighter over it to adjusting the shade. Another thing that I like about this powder is the fact that it's thin, weightless and has a velvet like consistency. This means it goes on the skin so nicely and doesn't leave it feeling cakey.

I use this powder to set my under eye concealer and around my smile lines- I find this leaves my concealer and foundation in tact! It doesn't move the product underneath and nicely sets it. I also like to use a tiny bit carve out my contour. This gives me an amazing sharp, yet blended line and really gives me that chiseled look! My most favourite way to use this powder is to set my eye lid primer prior to starting my eye shadow look! OMG when I tried this for the first time, it was literally life changing. I tend to get quite oily eye lids and every time finished with my eye look, it always creased in a matter of an hour or less. One day I applied a little dusting of this powder using my Real Techniques setting brush, and then commenced with my look. I was surprised how my eye shadow stayed in tact the WHOLE night! I can only imagine what a treat this powder must be for those with oily skin.

Although this powder is great to matteify those pesky oily parts on my face- I wouldn't use this to set my whole face, simply because I have dry skin and if I was to use this all over, I know for sure I would be left with dry patches. Also because it's colourless- it would leave me with a ghostly complexion!

I am so impressed with this powder. Everything from the quality of the packaging to the quality of the product inside is so luxurious! Have you tried this? Let me know in the comments below
