Not another black Friday post!!! Stopp!! I'm not selling anything to you, but rather giving you a heads up on how to shop without dropping! In the past Black Friday used to be simply a day with offers dropping the night before at the earliest, but this year I've been seeing the word Black Friday and early access since the start of the month!! Everywhere I turn it's just offers, offers and more offers! To stop getting overwhelmed and to be a savvy spender, I've made some tips for myself, that I thought I'd share with you guys:
1. The price might be right, but do you really need it?
I've found that I used to get reeled in with different offers. Even things that have never been on my wish list, all of a sudden I wanted because of getting it somewhat cheaper! If you haven't thought of purchasing it before the sales, step away from the offer
2. What's on your wish list?
This year I've made a wish list of things that I actually need. Most of it's quite boring and grown uppy such as a Ring doorbell, a coat, boots etc. But these are the things I actually need and if I can get a good deal on them then I'm all for it! I would start off by looking out for these things.
3. Shop your stash!
Sales are quite overwhelming and you're sort of rushed to make a decision there and then in case the offer goes. Before the sale starts, check your stash, Have you used that bargain of the year you so eagerly purchased last year? If the answer is no, then make better decisions this year. There's no point hoarding, companies are quite good and usually do discount codes throughout the year. Also things like skincare, make up etc. have a use by date, so you can't purchase them with the idea of using them one day
4. Is it really a Black Friday offer?
Sometimes shops like to get rid of things which aren't necessarily a Black Friday deal. Prices may seem great, but you might be able to get it for that price if not cheaper during the upcoming sales such as boxing day, Winter sale etc.
5. It's not just one day
Many stores reel you in with the words "One Day Only" and "20% off and declining" etc. these are persuasive terms which are meant to get you to SHOP! Usually Black Friday sales last for the whole weekend and at least until Tuesday the following week. Don't forget about Cyber Monday!
Now that you have these tips, your Black Friday shopping can be completed in a calm, sensible = manner, without the overwhelming feeling!
