Not another online gimmick?! No, I have tried and tested this little machine for just over a year now and I can't wait to tell you guys how impressed I am with it.
Before purchasing this machine, like many things I did a lot of research on it. The prospect of having a sucky thing on my face was quite scary, my face tends to bruise easily so this is one thing that put me off it for a long time. Initially I wanted to purchase the PMD system after stumbling across a video online. The PMD machine instantly caught my attention however, at the scorching price of £150 I could not justify it just yet. I didn't want to get it and find that it doesn't work well with my skin and have £150 wasted.
This is when I went on a search on good old Amazon! I just typed in Blackhead suction machine in the search bar and was overwhelmed with the results that came up, there were so many. It took me a little while to research the top five. Firstly, with Amazon I always make sure I order things that are Prime items. This means that number 1 I won't have to wait weeks for it to appear and secondly they seem more legit. Under this particular one there were many great reviews and photos to go with and this instantly made me confident enough to order it.
At the astonishing price of £21.99 I couldn't say no. To be honest, prior to receiving this item, I didn't have high hopes for it. Only because the price is a fraction of others similar to it in the market.
What's in the box:
The device + one attachment
x3 Extra attachments
USB Charging Cord
Change of sponge disks
Instruction manual
A little wallet type thing with metal extractors
When I first received it, I let it charge up so it had enough power. It doesn't take long to be fully charged, only about an hour.
Before I use this device I like to do a little skin prep- I start by cleansing my face with a gentle cleanser such as The Body Shop Vitamin E cleanser followed by steaming my face using another Amazon purchase (Review will be up soon). I then go on to using a face mask of my choice. Once the face mask has come off and my skin is still quite damp and the pores have opened up, only then do I go in with the device. At first when I switched this on I was surprised at the speed at which it was vibrating. It has 3 levels of vibration- slow, medium and fast. Mind you the fast does get quite fast but not to the point where it's crazy! The attachment that I like to use is the one that it came attached with, I find this works the best, it's not too small or too big, the information booklet describes the other attachments and what they can be used for. Before using it I was scared because I really didn't want it to leave a scar because of the pressure so I made sure I started off slow and then picked up the pace. Over time I have now started becoming a little bit more comfortable with it only because I'm now used to it and know what my skin can handle. I now use it at the highest speed and find this is the most effective.
I tend to focus the device mostly on my nose where I have blackheads. How can something so gross be so satisfying? You can literally feel the dirt coming out of your face not only that, you can also see it! Wow I cannot believe how this inexpensive pore removal device actually works?! I make sure to keep the skin quite moist whilst using this as it can feel rough on fully dry skin. I sometimes take it across the rest of my face but don't usually only because I don't feel the need to do so. When I do the whole routine I feel like I'm giving my self a spa experience facial! My skin looks and feels amazing. Blackheads are my worst nightmare and were a huge insecurity of mine since my teenage years. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find something that actually works.
I haven't used a pore strip in forever and completely rely on this device now. Saying that I only need to use this device once or twice a month. The rest of the time I like to incorporate acids in my skincare such as the glycolic acid in the Pixi Glow tonic. This works in conjunction to this device and keeps my skin exfoliated and maintains the job the device does. I also found that since I've started using this device my nose has been less dry but more oily, I've found I needed to pat my nose during the day. This is the complete opposite to my usually dry nose. It makes make up go on like a dream. Another thing to remember when using this device is to keep it moving and not just focus in one area of your face, this is what makes bruises appear due to the constant pressure in the same place.
After I've finished using the device, my skin gets a little bit red which is expected. If your skin gets blotchy and painful try and apply some cold compress to it. Personally I have never experienced this. I tend to do this routine the night before so if it does make my skin red, it has the night to calm down, ready for the next day. I then wash my face with cold water so the pores close up again. I like to finish off using a serum and then a moisturiser. And there you have it, that's my skincare/ at home facial routine. It might seem like quite a few steps to achieve this but trust me, it is so very worth it. As I mentioned above, it's not something I do frequently and when I do, do it I enjoy doing it and it's only when I need to.

My favourite mask to use with the device is the Base Lift Indian Eraser Clay (pictured above) and reviewed already on my blog. I like to also pair this with the serum too as it's not too harsh and feels nice on the skin.
I also make sure I clean this device after every use as it does bring up a lot of dirt. It's really simple and easy to do, all I do is take the attachment out and then there's also another little bit that you take off. Get rid of the sponge disk or you can wash to reuse. The attachment that you've used can be put under the tap and then the tip which is smaller can be cleaned using a cotton bud and rinsed again. Very simple and easy to do. If you have anymore questions regarding the device please feel free to send me a message on Instagram where you'll always find me available to answer questions.
I hope this post was helpful to you all
